SCONES RECIPE

 

 

 

 

 

Les scones sont des petites brioches que les Irlandais mangent avec le thé pour le « tea-time ». Ils les coupent en deux et y mettent de la crème fraiche fouettée et de la confiture de fruits rouges (cassis, myrtilles,..)

Heat the hoven to 220 C°

Get the baking tray ready with greaseproof paper greaseproof paper

Ingredients

225 g flour + baking powder

 

Pinch of salt

 

2 oz / 60g margarine or butter

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some milk

2 oz / 50 g brown sugar

1 egg

 

 

Method

1/ Pour the flour, the baking powder and the sugar together in a bowl.

2/ Add the margarine and the beaten egg

3/ Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

4/ Add some milk until ….

      the dough is sticking
5/ Get a cutter

 

6/ Flatten your dough

(3cm high – 3 cm de hauteur)

7/ Push your cutter in the dough

8/ Brush your scone lightly with milk

9/ Put the scones into the hoven for about 10 minutes.

10/ Taste your scones!

 

Cut it half.

11/ Add some jam…

and some cream

12/ and have a test! It’s really good!
